Inside & out. Misschien allemaal om een verschillende reden maar om 1 reden in het algemeen: you'll be there when the rain starts to fall.

Music

It hasn't been a long time since I posted a music blog about what I'm listening to these days but I already got some "new" songs I wanna share with you.

The Fratellis - Seven Nights Seven Days.

I already posted a video with their song the last time but the clip is out now so you gotta check it out. I like it a lot and I would like for The Fratellis to not be underrated anymore because they are a really good band with really good musicians and songs.

John Mayer - Born and Raised.
I am completely in love with John Mayer and have been for a while now. Born and Raised is such a great album and John is a great musician. He also loves Stevie Ray Vaughan and that's a big + so hey lezgetmarried babeh. I wish I was Katy Perry (never thought I'd say this, sigh, John makes people do and say weird stuff). I like this video because I like the headband. SRV wore it too sometimes. Of course it's not only because of the scarf around his head but this is a song that touches me. That sounds really inappropriate. Ok. Err.. I like it when he plays harmonica. The song calms me down (I need that every now and then). Nuff Said I guess

De Staat - All is dull.

I posted about them in my previous music blog post but this is a different song and a live recording. Yes. They really are that good live. I was there when it got recorded and holy crap these guys are so good. They already proved that with their 2 previous albums but this is just fucking magical again. If you have the time to check some other songs out; do it. This was my favorite from last saturday (when it got recorded).

Gavin DeGraw - Who's Gonna Save Us.

Yes! Gavin DeGraw is back again and I am loving it. The last album was a really good one and it seems that this one is going to be the perfect follow up. This is one of the newest songs and I love the lyrics. "At the bottom of an empty bottle is where the truth starts to spill. Don't wanna wake up with regrets from this feeling we can't kill" is the line that gets to me the most. I hope I get the chance to see him perform again because I really enjoyed it the last time. That was also because I had great company throughout the day! I honestly don't give 2 shits if you don't like Gavin in this blog because he's a good musician who writes good songs and has been in the business long enough to deserve some of your respect.

Bastille - We Can't Stop.

Of course I would not make this blog without posting my about my babies. This time they did a cover of Miley Circus's song We Can't Stop. I admit, at first I thought "oh god no why" but it's actually really good and about a thousand times better than the original. Combined with the jokes that are hidden in the song it's just a great video to watch and listen to. They are a talented bunch of people who know how to make something sound completely different by adding just a few things and make it sound so good you want to rip your heart out and send it to them. Maybe the last line went a little too far but I can't hide my inner fangirl when I talk about Bastille. They are so much more than just another band from the UK. If you haven't got that figured out yet then something is wrong and my advice is to go see a doctor who can provide you with help.

Dear Love - Lost
You might not hav
e heard about this band just yet but keep your eyes and ears peeled because they are going to be great. At least, that's what I expect and hope for them. When I first heard this song the singer's voice immediately stood out to me. I like how this song sounds, it's right. It all fits together. It's one. The lyrics are phenomenal and I guess that it's an understatement to say the writer is kind of a lyrical genius. It was the first song they put on YouTube and it was better than I expected. I sure hope they become bigger and bigger and can come to The
N
etherlands soon! You can also follow them on twitter: DEAR LOVE & youtub

Do
ei.

Popo.

Michelle is weer eens boos.

Music blog

Yesss hello it's that time again. I'm gonna post a few songs I've been listening to a lot lately and hope you'll find some stuff that's new to you and that you actually like (so we can hopefully fangirl over its awesomeness). Here goees.....

Band of Skulls - I know what I am.
As you read previously, I'm going to Queens of the Stone Age on the 26th of November and this week the support act was announced: Band of skulls. Of course I was like "I know the name but not the music" and my laptop did some youtubin and found this. Of course I know this song and you should know it too. I dislike female singers but her voice is not whiny so it's alright it's ok (haha ha ha stop it michelle)

Imagine Dragons - Tiptoe You probably know this band from their hits Radioactive & It's time. And maybe On Top Of The World too. But I'm quite sure you never heard this one before, which is a shame because it's a very good song that I like a lot. I saw Imagine Dragons about 2 weeks ago and I also met them and I can tell you I love them loads so don't go offending them because I will make you shit out of your mouth in stead of your ass. Thank you. May that be obvious. Alright, just have a listen. It makes me happy. That's rare. Hah.

Stereophonics - Dakota The Stereophonics have been around for a while and this song is quite "old" too but I fell in love with it a couple of weeks ago (I may or may not have fallen in love with Kelly, the singer, too). I love this acoustic version of it because his voice is so strong and powerful. It sounds so sweet and meaningful. It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it (which is about 8 times a day).

De Staat - Devil's Blood This is a dutch band. Now don't go all judgeyjudgey on me because this is a GOOD thing coming from the Netherlands. De Staat would be a great addition to your music gallery. Their music is innovative, weird, unique, impressive, complicated yet honest but mysterious. All at the same time which makes no fucking sense at all. But I hope you understand what I mean and if you don't then I feel very sorry for you and your imagination. This album will be quite different from their first album, which is fucking amazing and will never get old, but I feel like it's going to be another really special and unique album. Keep an eye on them, will ya?

1975 - Sex They had a hit with their song about weed, Chocolate. I liked the song a lot but I like this one even better. I have a thing for weird male voices and this is a great weird voice. I also like how the song came together and what they made of it. The 1975 are a band that are more than welcome to the music industry these days. I really do think their music is refreshing and great. I do however also think that it's not a voice everyone can love.

Franz Ferdinand - Love Illumination Yes. Yes. Hell.Fucking.Yes. If this does not make you want to dance then you should go in some therapy because it's fucking amazing. I can't help but do my terrible 70's dancemoves.

The Fratellis - Seven nights seven days THEY.ARE.BACK. I am so HAPPY because The Fratellis are back and they already showed us some great new material and this is one of those songs. I feel happy when I listen to it because of the way it sounds. They've gotten more country/folk and I think it's a good thing. They get away with it. Jon's voice is all sexy and stuff and it's just one. It's just one song that sounds really good and happy and cheerful. You might know them from their song Chelsea Dagger. I don't know why they did not get more famous and why their fanbase is not that big. It's a great band with talented musicians that listen to each other and really play TOGETHER. So, if you want to see them as badly as I do, go check their website to see if they're playing at a venue near you any time soon!

Corey Gray - Stay (Rihanna cover) His voice. It's just.. wow. I've said enough. Listen to it, for your own good.

Human Rights Tattoo

This is my Human Rights Tattoo. Here’s what that is:
1 cm2 of your skin for Human Rights. To underline the importance of Human Rights, we are going to tattoo the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. All 6773 letters of it. On 6773 individuals worldwide. Get 1 tattoo of the 6773 letters and be part of it!

I was going to Lowlands 2 weeks ago and heard they were tattooing Human Rights Tattoos at the festival and I got one. It wasn’t a hard decision to make. I’ve been wanting one since the first time I heard of it. This is the letter L, from the word equal. The girl before me had an A, that’s how it works.

Why I did not have a doubt about getting it: I think Human Right are important. There should be no difference in the rights that women, men and children have. It should be HUMAN rights. Equality is powerful yet it’s almost nowhere to be seen. I think this is ridiculous. I complain a lot but I do actually realise I have a good life and it could be completely different if I just cross a border. Lately it’s been getting worse everywhere and I’m just really glad I have a current reminder of that I should be grateful for what I have but not forget what I can do for others.
