I don't know what time it was, I don't wear a watch.

As most of you know (and if you don't; shame on you. Your parents are very dissapointed.) Queens of the Stone Age's album ...Like Clockwork came out in the Netherlands today. It leaked about 2 weeks ago but I decided not to listen to it because QotSA was really excited about the album and they dropped little & big hints all the time. I loved their hints and the parts of the songs I had already heard so why listen to the leaked album when there was more hints to come? I didn't want to know how it all sounded until QotSA wanted me to, that day was today. Although I have no money to buy the album (I have to eat & drink @ pinkpop I'm sorry for willing to survive) I can judge how it sounds by the live performance they gave at The Wiltern last week. At first I didn't want to listen because I wanted to keep the live version a surprise for myself. I wanted to be surprised at Pinkpop but since everyone got their albums today I figured I'd listen to the entire perfomance anyway since I'd be blown away eitherway at Pinkpop.

When a part of Kalopsia came out I was overly excited because I could tell (by the title yes) that it was going to be my favorite song and tbh it didn't dissapoint me at all and I knew I was right by saying it was going to be my favorite song. When I first heard 'If I had a taill' I f
ell in love. Really hard. I think that Keep Your Eyes Peeled really grew on me (not as some type of body hair but err you knoww this is really gross no don't think these thoughts don't visualize please it's for your own good). At first I didn't like it as much as I liked the other songs I'd already heard. I love the lyrics and how it all came together because it really sounds really really good together (help i still got that image in my head make it stop).

I also really love I Appear Missing because it's just really fucking awesome and I should not even explain why because if you don't love it something is really fucking wrong with you you messed up piece of sh. Let's now talk about My God Is The Sun, the first song we alllllll heard. When they played it for the first time it felt perfect. It was a masterpiece and it really had me looking forward to more songs (which we didn't get until a few weeks after). Shortly after QotSA played If I Had A Tail & I Sat By The Ocean. I Sat By The Ocean is a great song. A really, really great song. The first time I heard it I didn't really like it but later I found out that it was only because they played If I Had A Tail after I Sat By The Ocean. I Sat By The Ocean has great lyrics, just like all songs have actually. Lets just say Josh Homme is a lyrical magician.

When I Saw QotSA at De Wereld Draait Door they played If I Had A Tail bfore the show and I made me wanna dance. I didn't because me & dancing is a recipe for disaster so I stayed in my seat and behaved. During the show they played a bit of My God Is The Sun and at the end the entire band looked at their 'watch'. Lots of people thought it was because they could only play for a minute and a half but it was because of the album title, ...Like Clockwork. I still peed my pants laughing at that first suggestion though. I also m
et them that day, not for long because they had to go but hey I loved seeing them anyway.

So today I list
en to that live performance at The Wiltern for the first time which means I heard some songs for the first time. I didn't hear Fairweather Friends though. Everyone says it's a great song. I have no doubt whatsoever. Like I said before, Kalopsia was my favorite song but Vampyre Of Time & Memory made me doubt that. Jesus fucking christ, I was blown away by it. And I also like the title.   I have a thing for titles and if I could marry some of this album I would. But Smooth Sailing made me wanna dance. It did. So now I can officially dance to If I Had A Tail & Smooth Sailing. I like it. It has a good sound, a great sound. The one I like least is Like Clockwork. I don't know why, I guess that if you compare it to all the others, it just makes you forget the track. Not really forget, but it fades away a bit. I think it's something I didn't expect to be on the album. So it does really keep the album very interesting.

I lik
e the album and I can honestly say it's their best one yet because it just fits together. It's one. Although it's a little darker and more mysterious, it didn't surprise me that Queens of the Stone Age made an album like this. I can't wait to hear all the studio versions but for now, live is good enough. I can also say that, in my opinion, Queens of the Stone Age is the best live band there is. In thentire universe. Of course other bands come pretty close but they are phenomenal. No one can or will top this in the next five years.

If you want to list
en yourself; search for Queens of the Stone Age The Wiltern & you'll be satisfied and not willing to listen to other music for the rest of your life.

It's been a while

So here's a little blog about the songs I'm currently listening to a lot.

  • Bastille - Flaws
    I lik
e flaws. Not just the song but just flaws in general. I think they make you who you are. That sentence makes no fucking sense at all but I hope you get what I mean. I also really like Bastille and tbh the singer is one of the most attractive people I'vever met. I don't even know why, he just is. So if you haven't heard it yet; give it a listen. If you've heard it and you like it; well done. If you've heard it and you didn't like it; Fuck you.

  • Bruno Mars - When I was your man

    Why??? B
ecause he sings it like he means it and I believevery word that comes out of his mouth. It's great to sing along to also. Trust me.

  • Justin Timberlake - Mirrors

    I hav
e always liked JT because he's a true artist and does whatever he wants whether that's acting or singing. This song is sweet and not too corny and really fun to dance to. This live version at SNL is the greatest version so far. I really liked Suit & Tie too but I don't really like Jay-Z so when that part comes on I just quit listening immediately.

  • Biffy Clyro - Opposite

I lik
e Biffy Clyro and their music a lot. This song became very special to me. I listened to it for the first time a few months ago when the album Opposites came out and I don't know how or why but I just fell in love. It's a song I listen to every day, at least 7 times a day. It may sound sad but to me it's just kind of how I feel right now although I'm not really sure how I feel. This just comes very close because I can feel every word. It just pierces right through to my heart and it feels really special, as if that song was made for me. I can feel the pain, I can feel the sadness but most of all I can feel the honesty. Take care of the ones that you love.

  • Queens of the Stone Age - If I had a tail.

I choos
e this one because you can fully hear this in the album version (although I like it better live). So most of you saw this coming. Of cours I had to add Queens of the Stone Age because man, their new album is going to be fucking insane and weird and I'm so going to love it and play it til the day I die. Almost 2 weeks ago I met them and they are really nice, even though we barely talked. Seriously, if you don't like at least one song from their upcoming album LIKE CLOCKWORK you're mentally ill. So here is my 2nd favorite (1st = Kalopsia), If I Had A Tail. I like it because it makes me wanna dance. And the lyrics are amazing. Josh Homme is a lyric magician.

short

"Aw he's cute" Nah he's not really my type - 892987 people when they can't come up with anything better. That was an inspirational quote wasn't it? Think about it. If you really like someone, they become your type. So no one really has a type of guy/girl they'd like. What if you're ATTRACTED to Brunettes but you get in touch with a blonde person and suddenly you're in love and all? He/she became your type. It's stupid when people ask "What type of guy/girl do you like?". You know what's stupid too? Everyone answers the same; "Oh I want him/her to be nice, attractive, funny and sweet". No one's going to said "I want her/him to be aggressive and grumpy" NO. NO ONE. So don't even bother asking someone about their type. Love happens. Let it happen. Don't force it. Don't fool yourself. Don't fall in love with someone you WANT to be in love with. Don't fall in love because you want to fall in love.

HOLY GUACAMOLE

OK.. In thirteen days you can find me standing front row at the Neil Young & Crazy Horse concert in the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. Yesterday my father texted me "In two weeks it'll be over already :(" so I thought what the fuck is he gonna die or some shit? But nope.. In 2 weeks it's the 5th of June. It made me go insane, realizing I'll be seeing my hero in 2 weeks. It's less than 2 weeks today so I ugh I don't know man I just can't wait anymore. I'm nervous, I'm excited, I'm kinda sad because time is going to fly by with such good music on the stage but I'm also very very happy about seeing him again.. The last time I saw him was June 7th, 2009. It was amazing, it was great, it was everything I expected. But you know what I'd like??? I'd like for Neil to just play in a pub or something. I guess that's never gonna happen.

Crazy Hors
e's guitarist said this might be their last worldtour ever. I don't think you want to know how upset I was. But then again, Neil is also getting older and he's just not healthy. Frank Sampedro said Neil's wrist is hurting and he has to tape it every time again. At first I was like "Oh well he has some worse healthproblems he'll get through this" but that was at a younger age.. And since he always plays guitar this might really, really be his last worldtour. If he continues to sometimes play in the USA I'll be saving up a shitload of money to go see him there because this can NOT, I repeat, NOT be the last time I see him.

(I really like his genre, it's a special one)

I start
ed googling for some setlists of this year of the Alchemy tour and I found different things. In Australia they played almost the samevery night. I like that setlist but after that I found a 'rehearsal setlist' and oh my gooooood my heart just skipped a beat. All of these old, quite unkown, songs are on it and some of them have been played live only three or four times. How awesome would it be for me, a 21-year old die hard Neil Young fan who wishes she was born at least fourty years ago so she could've witnessed some of Neil's awesomeness back then, to see and hear those songs live??? even though they might not get performed the way they used to back then, I'd love it. It could probably turn into one of the best nights ever if they play at least 5 songs from that setlist.. I could listen to this setlist for forever. And ever. Also forever.

Th
ere's also a setlist that inludes mainly the more popular songs but it'd be fine if they played that you know because Sugar Mountain, Fucking Up & Ohio are on that setlist.. Ugh seriously I can't wait and I also do not WANT to wait. You never know what's gonna happen with Neil. Sometimes even Crazy Horse doesn't know which song they're going to play. I've been looking forward to this for so long and I know it's not gonna let me down, no matter what songs they play.

Thank santa.

Alright, I admit it has been a while since I wrote a blog. Here's my unpopular opinion on a dumb comment; 3 women, who have been missing for a decade, were found in a house not very far from where they went missing. That's a long time. They were tied up with ropes and chains and every once in a while they were allowed to go outside. They got abused. They were pregnant 6 times, and only 1 baby actually made it out of the womans' belly. One out of 6. Do the math. So I was very relieved to hear this, even though I was a little too young to know about this 10 years ago. I was looking at the CNN website. People can leave comments there and one of the comments that pissed me of was: THANK GOD. PRAISE THE LORD. WHY???????????????????? Thank god for them going missing, being tortured and raped and then finally found 10 years later? If you believe in god you better fucking rethink, with all the shit that has been going on in this world, how can you still be that naive? Amanda Berry and the neighbour are the two heroes in this story. They made it happen, they got everything going. They made it possible for the women to be found, Amanda Berry was one of the women but she went apeshit in the house so the neighbour came to take a look and then he (and later Amanda) called the cops. I don't see any other, so called, god in this story, do you now? if you do; I don't give a shit. Your argument is invalid to me.
